I’ll be real with y’all: my skin has been terrible since I hit my pre-teens. I dealt with acne, dryness, irritation–you name it, and it was an issue! Korea is lightyears ahead of the US in terms of its skincare products. Focusing on gentle ingredients to be used every day, their products are a more healing alternative to their US counterparts. And, best of all, you get the luxury feel you would associate with high-priced US skincare without the extra hit to your bank balance.

Sunscreen
If you’ve heard anything about kbeauty, you’ve likely heard about the Beauty of Joseon sunscreen. Not only does this magical sunscreen not upset my dermatitis, but they truly feel weightless on your skin. They are perfect on their own or as a base for makeup. The original formula adds an extra glow, giving that classic kbeauty glass skin effect, while the newer Aqua Fresh variant adds less of a shine. I prefer the latter, but I have loved using both products!
Unfortunately, due to US restrictions on newer ingredients used in kbeauty sunscreens, the Korean formula is not available on sites like Amazon or Sephora. I have so many moisturizers, but this one has absolutely blown me away. The velvet texture and quick absorption make for a luxurious experience every time you apply it. It’s one of the pricier k-beauty items I’ve purchased, but trust me, it’s worth every penny.
Acne
Medicube, my beloved! I used a combo of their Red Line products consistently for over a month and I am so happy with the results. I still get flare-ups (I have hormonal acne that topical cleansers and exfoliants won’t treat) but, as a whole, my skin is so clear! I can wear dresses with low backs again without having to worry about covering up any problem spots.
